To provide more flexible training options for apprentices in high demand trades to better service our host employers, GAGAL’s Technical Training Centre (GTTC) offers flexible off the job training to both its apprentices and to the directly indentured apprentices of local businesses
GAGAL provides accredited and non-accredited courses in Safety Training, our accredited trainer (Peter Knight) has 31 years industry experience including 12 years as a Work Place Health and Safety Officer and conducts the following course on site at 28 Beckinsale Street. Get Set for Work (GS4W) is a Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation-funded project that addresses the learning and employment options available to young people and helps prepare them for employment. The program is primarily targeted at young people who are disengaged or are at risk of disengaging before completing Year 12.
Back on Track is a program designed to assist young people who are at risk or have disengaged from mainstream schooling. It provides an alternative to the school environment, structuring teaching around individual needs to assist over time with the transition back into a formal educational setting or onto a further training/career path/employment.
The Youth Support Coordinators (YSC) Program operates within the education sector and work closely with students to prevent them from disengaging from either “learning or earning”.
