CEO gives notice of retirement

Gladstone Area Group Apprentices Limited Chairman Mr Peter Corones AM, announces that CEO, Leigh Zimmerlie has given the board notice of her retirement.

The board is proud of the way Leigh has lead the company for the past 8 years delivering growth, stability and strong fiscal management.

Leigh has decided to retire from full time work and will continue to concentrate on the boards that she sits on as a Director.

“I feel that my board work is a way I can give back to the community” Leigh said.

“I finish my CEO role at the end of July this year, I have really enjoyed my role at Gladstone Area Group Apprentices over the past 8 years, placing locals in to apprenticeships and traineeships is a wonderful experience, I have been lucky to have an excellent board and committed staff supporting me.”

Chair Mr Corones said the board has appointed an Interim CEO, Mr Michael Walz. Michael is a well-known local business man who has held high level management roles for many years and has in the past been a Director on the GAGAL Board.
